Thomas Boakye was invited to trial at Manchester City FC from 10th August for two weeks. If Thomas performs well then this could be extended for a further three weeks prior to the start of his second year of his National Diploma programme at Hartpury College.

The former Right to Dream Academy product was invited by Manchester City FC and has been under the control of Scott Sellars, Youth Team Manager, whilst at the club.

After a successful first year at Hartpury, Thomas Boakye was selected to play for both England Schools U-18s and England Colleges U-19s. He also played a big part in the Hartpury sides that won both the England Schools National U-18 title and England Colleges National Playoff title in the 2009/10 season. Having just turned 17 he will still be eligible to play in all of these competitions next year as well as the opportunity to play for the
U-18 England Schools National team for a second year. Boakye was also part of the Hartpury squad that returned from the Gothia Cup in Sweden last month having achieved the best finish (3rd place) by an England team at U-18 level since the tournament started in 1975.
