City's Central League Cup game against Preston scheduled for Wednesday 14th December has now been put back until next year.

 

The new date is 29th February 2012, the tie is to be played at Chorley FC with a 2pm kick off

City's current squad of under 16's were informed of their fate last week, we have been told only a small minority of the players were offered scholarships namely Angus Gunn, Ashley Smith Brown, Jack Byrne and James Horsefield, with a couple of others having to wait until January to know their fate

 

We have also since found out that recent goalkeeping trialist from Birmingham City, Liam Sharpe has also been given a scholarship

 

 

Such low numbers would enhance the rumours that a number of foreign players are due to join the academy

(02/11/2011)-Italian duo join Oldham on loan

Oldham Athletic have signed Manchester City youngsters Lucas Scapuzzi and Andreas Mancini on short-term loan deals,

 

Oldham manager Paul Dickov said: ‘We have got a couple of strikers out with injury and I am really grateful to Roberto Mancini for allowing these deals to go through. I have seen both Luca and Andrea play this season and they are both decent. We have four games in the next two weeks, so they will definitely see some action’.
