New Talent Spotter
It`s being reported that Gary Worthington, a top talent spotter, with Chelsea is about to be poached by City. He would therefore be resuming his partnership with Brian Kidd, having worked with him at Leeds United.
Hodges sacked
Following the recent upheavel in Citys management lteam, one of the casualty's was Glynn Hodges position as reserve team manger, so the club are on the look out for a new manager
Moore to Orient
ORIENT gave a trial to Manchester City winger Karl Moore in Tuesday's reserve team game against Eastbourne Borough.
Moore, who is 21, joined City as a trainee, but has not featured for the first team
Paul Marshall to join Aberdeen?
ABERDEEN manager Mark McGhee is running the rule over Manchester City kid Paul Marshall at Pittodrie.
The 20-year-old midfielder has begun a week's trial and could secure an initial loan switch to the north east.
Marshall is an England Under-20 international and McGhee said: "I watched Marshall play for City's reserve team and there is no doubt he is a good footballer.
"He's a tall left-sided central midfielder who is a good passer of the ball and different from anything we have.
"We'd be looking at taking the boy on loan initially but I think he would be available to make that permanent."
Is Paul Hart to join the Academy?
Meanwhile the defeat of City's youngsters in the FA Youth Cup at Preston last weekend has led to talk of former Portsmouth manager Paul Hart being called in to work with the youth team.
Hart is close to technical development manager Brian Kidd and is being lined up for a role at Eastlands.
Youth team coach Scott Sellars has been blamed for the club's cup exit, although he is on a steep learning curve at City.
Hart has yet to be offered a job by City, but he recently turned down Pompey's offer to make him director of football.
Hart earned his reputation in the game working with kids and his was the name on everyone's lips at City's training ground last week.
Reserves off to Switzerland
An elite City development squad will spend a few days in Switzerland,during a break in reserve fixtures. The trip will involve a few training sessions as well as playing against Under 21 sides from Young Boys of Berne and Grasshoppers Zurich
Academy for Abu Dhabi
Citys academy side have been invited to attend a tournament in February 2010 in Abu Dhabi.The line up will include, Inter Milan, Valencia, Al Ain, the UAE national team and Raja Casablanca
