Bolton Wanderers 0 Manchester City 1

Nimely 16 mins

A first half strike from the reserves top goal scorer Alex Nimely was enough to secure victory in the Manchester Senior Cup Final.

City had finished top of the league in this competition but gave up the right to home advantage but with a record of not having lost away from home all season, there was to be little concern,

Nimely struck on 16 minutes , with the use of his quick feet he turned a Bolton defender in the box and stroked the ball home with some confidence into the bottom corner, not that a lot should be taken away from the play that led to the goal with both Scott Kay and Abdi Ibrahim trading passes before the latter set up Nimmo.

In the only real other chance of the first half Nimely was guilty of the old addage 'never celebrate before you score', when he should have converted a pass from Javan Vidal, but contrived to miss-kick the ball when presented with an opportunity inside the six yard box.

City continued to waste chances in the second period and when they were on target they found Bolton keeper Adam Bogden in fine form,

On 55 minutes a shot from David Ball was destined for the top corner until Bogdan turned it round for a corner. Robbie Mak then curled a shot in from the edge of the box which struck the post, the rebound fell to Nimely and Bogdan kept the follow up out with his legs. Bogdan then denied Nimely again coming off his line to deny the striker

It looked as all the wasted chances were going to back fire on City  when a Bolton player saw a shot ricochet off the bar and when Ricardo Vaz Te pounced on some deliberation between Wabara and Karius  and with the goal at his mercy he hit his free shot into the side netting.

With Fergie time added on, City played out the remaining four minutes to register the first silver ware of the season for the club.
