Manchester City 1 v Newcastle United 0

King 89 mins

An 89th minute strike by new recruit George King was enough to secure victory over Newcastle United.

Citys advantage could have been a lot more , but for a series off great saves by former Flixton Juniors and Manchester born keeper Ben Robinson and some desperate last minute blocks by Newcastle defenders and goal line clearances

City rung the changes in the second half and this allowed The Magpies to gradually force their way back into the game however Kings shot on goal was enough to give City victory.

City included all the trialist who featured at Radcliffe in midweek and we managed to gleam a little bit more information on them.

The forward player was called Ohi Anthony Omoijuanfo, a youth team player for  Norwegian side Lillestrom(who had a previous trial at Manchester United), the two fullbacks played in midfield today and the smaller of the two was French speaking and answered to the name Imar(?) the other lad was called Tom, but that was probably an abbrevation of his full name.

The foreign trilaist keeper played for the under 16's in their 5-1 win over Swindon which followed on from a 4-1 win over Norwegian side Molde the previous week
