U18s Back to Winning Ways
MCFC U18s 4 – 0 LFC U18s
City cemented their top of league placing with a comfortable win at Platt lane today. City took the lead on twenty seven minutes with a good move down the right with England U18 international Javan
Vidal who crossed the ball and Ched Evans headed down for David Ball to hit into the corner of the net.
Within the first minute of the re-start City had doubled their lead when Paul Marshall’s shot from just inside the area was spilled by the keeper and their was David Ball again to fire into the roof
of the net.
Within two more minutes city were three nil up thanks to a Clayton McDonald header from a Marshall corner. This was no surprise as Liverpool were a very small team and I would be surprised if any of
their players were taller than 5’10”.
City’s fourth was a great solo effort by Ched Evans who took two defenders on and fired from twenty yards past the helpless keeper. By his standards Ched had a relatively quite game but he still made
sure he left his mark on the game. I have to mention Vidal as I thought he had a very good game defensively as well as getting forward well which he is good at but the defensive part of his game
needed working on and he really showed that today.
The U16s however suffered their first defeat of the season loosing 1-0.
