Gunnar Nielsen

Date of Birth: 07/10/1986

Born in Torshavn in the Faroe Islands, Neilsen was signed by Blackburn Rovers for a 'small' but undisclosed fee from BK Frem. He joined Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League on a six month loan in August 2008.

He then joined Manchester City on a two and half year contract in February 09 and shortly afterwards went on loan to Wrexam but returned after sustaining a thumb injury,then went on loan to Tranmere Rovers but again returned to City due to injury.

An injury to first choice keeper Shay Given meant that Gunnar was able to make his one and only appearance for the first team against Arsenal in April 2010.
