No Sticky Top of the Table for Everton

EFC U18s 0 - 1 MCFC U18s

City travelled back down the M62 with all three points and put some daylight between themselves and Everton at the top of the table. A sweetly struck twenty five yard curling shot into the far corner of the net by David Ball three minutes before half time was enough to seal this top of the table clash.
City dominated possession during the first half and had a few chances to put themselves in front; indeed Robbie Mak was clean through and beat the keeper but his shot cannoned of the post.
Everton not surprisingly came back at City in the second half and nearly levelled things up when Filip Mental mis-judged coming out to claim the ball in a crowded area and City were lucky to see the Everton player toe poke his effort just wide.
City however were resilient at the back and forced the Everton goalkeeper into a few more saves, but on the balance of play City were the better side and a narrow victory was a good reflection of the game.
City now entertain West Brom at home next Saturday who have got eight points from seven games before today's fixtures.

City: Mentel(GK), Trippier, McGivern, Ramsey, Mee(Capt.), Kay, Weiss(Poole), Tsiaklis, D Ball(I Daly), Mak, McDermott.

Subs: Morris, Hartley(GK), Chantler.

Good news for City's U16s as they also gained a deserved one nil victory over Everton.
